Local Area
The Rebels Hide is situated at the very end of the historic village of Clifton, five miles from the equally historic market town of Penrith, and only five miles from Lake Ullswater.
This makes it the perfect setting for trips into Lakeland or the Eden Valley. The area has Lakes, Mountains, castles, historic houses, gardens and many other tourist attractions and places of interest. We always assist our guests with local information on what there is to see and do, and visit. Cinema, theatre and music are all available in the close vicinity.
We can arrange boat trips, guided cycle rides; cycle and kayak hire and guided walks if required. We are happy to discuss bespoke organised vacations or short breaks with you to ensure your trip to Cumbria is a memorable occasion.
Within staggering distance from the Hide is the recently refurbished George and Dragon Inn, one of the finest old Inns in Cumbria. The Inn serves excellent ales, wines and spirits and serves excellent cuisine. The perfect place to spend the evenings during your visit.
