The Rebels Hide

The “Rebels Hide” offers the facilities of high quality new build accommodation, in a traditional setting of historical significance. The property faces onto the site of the last battle fought on English Soil where members of the McPherson Clan lay buried beneath what is known locally as the rebels tree.

The Hide is on the doorstep of the Lakes and only five minutes away from what we consider to be the finest lake, Lake Ullswater. It provides an ideal base to explore some of Lakelands picturesque villages and indeed the less well known but equally lovely Eden Valley. It is an ideal location for cyclists, climbers, walkers, sailors, and sight seeing. The historic village of Clifton has one of the finest Lakeland Inns in Cumbria serving excellent beers and wines and fine cuisine. It is a couple of staggering minutes away from the hide.

The Rebels Hide offers a more imaginative approach to Bed and Breakfast with three rooms available, offering a variety of choices dependent on price and personal requirements.

We are an ideal and unique “travellers rest” for those travelling North to South, South to the North, or East to West only five minutes from the M6 motorway, A66 and situated just off the A6.

Accommodation is subject to availability and consists of:

• The family/small group room large flexible room with sofa, flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities. Access to garden
• The "puffin room" - en suite room with sofa, flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities
• The "garden room" – spacious room with sofa, flat screen TV, DVD, video , tea and coffee making facilities. Access to garden. Whilst this room is not en suite there is access to high quality bathroom and ground floor toilet.

All rooms are available on a room only basis, continental breakfast or cooked breakfast options. Packed lunches are available on request.

For larger parties we can accommodate group members in other locally placed accommodation by request.

For catering in the cottage, Penrith and neighbouring villages offer farmers markets, farm shops and the award winning, Cranstons.
